We bumped into each other—
by accident, or divine comedic timing.
You, with that same crooked smile.
Me, with healed hips and holy boundaries.
We hugged. Brief. Familiar.
A sacred nod to a love that once burned.
And let’s be honest—it was good.
But so is closure.
You looked like a memory.
I looked like freedom.
You whispered, “Damn, you still got it.”
I smiled, “I know.”
No bitterness. No longing.
Just two grown folks
who survived the same fire—
but only one of us learned to build a home.
So if you see me in these streets,
just know:
We were a beautiful chapter…
but baby, I’m already writing the sequel.
With humor, grace, and a strut that don’t lie,
